Mirrors Another characteristic feature of the Jaguar XKX are the totally disappearing side mirrors. At about 1cm thickness, the mirrors perfectly fit the shallow hatch made in the door piece when the car is stopped and they unfold again in working position when it’s turned on. This adds to both the aesthetics, and protects the side mirrors from any damages when parked. Aerodynamics Given a much smaller and cooler power plant than conventional, the aerodynamics was conceived in a new innovative way. The side deflector intakes of the front were made broader, so a much larger amount of air does not get stuck by the engine, instead, it flows behind the front wheels, getting out behind them and sliding along the doors and then taking another shortcut through the rear wheels and out from the big rear openings, greatly reducing the total flowing path and subsequently drag. Regenerative Power Almost 60% of the energy used by a typical car at highway speeds is spent to counter air friction. Obviously, that is A LOT of energy spent for a function that is indispensable, but not the primary (to push the vehicle forward). The body of the XKX is covered by a layer housing microscopic ripples of piezoelectric cells, which, stimulated by the pressure of the air flowing over them (the actual air friction experienced by the car) produce electricity that is fed back to the vehicle’s battery, increasing both efficiency and performance.

Holiday sales make up roughly 40 percent of the overall industry revenue—and the year’s biggest hits are born then. But as publishers prepare for the fourth-quarter battle, what better time to see what has been driving sales this year?

So far, things aren’t shaping up well. Software sales are down 11 percent year to date, and are on track to be lower for the third consecutive year, according to the NPD Group, which tracks game sales. That’s a shortfall of more than $450 million.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is a first-person shooter video game developed by Treyarch, published by Activision and released worldwide on November 9, 2010 for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii consoles, with a separate version for Nintendo DS developed by n-Space. Announced on April 30, 2010, the game is the seventh installment of the Call of Duty series. It is also the first to be set in the Cold War and the fifth to be set in World War II. Halo 3 is a first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie for the Xbox 360 console. The third installment in the Halo franchise, the game concludes the story arc begun in Halo: Combat Evolved and continued in Halo 2. Halo 3‘s story centers on the interstellar war between twenty-sixth century humanity and a collection of alien races known as the Covenant. The player assumes the role of the Master Chief, a cybernetically enhanced supersoldier, as he battles the Covenant. Grand Theft Auto IV is a 2008 open world action-adventure video game published by Rockstar Games, and developed by UK game developer Rockstar North. It has been released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 video game consoles, and for the Windows operating system. The game involves a separate timeline and world than its predecessors, starting the fourth “era” in the Grand Theft Auto series, and is set in fictional Liberty City, based heavily on modern day New York City. The game follows Niko Bellic, a veteran of an unnamed war in Eastern Europe, who comes to the United States in search of the American Dream, but quickly becomes entangled in a world of gangs, crime, and corruption. Like other games in the series, GTA IV is composed of elements from driving games and third-person shooters, and features open world gameplay, in which players can interact with the game world at their leisure. Grand Theft Auto IV also features several online multiplayer modes.

The International Commerce Centre is a 108 floor, 484 m (1,588 ft) skyscraper completed in 2010 in West Kowloon, Hong Kong. A five-star hotel, The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong occupies floors 102 to 118. The world’s highest swimming pool and bar (OZONE) can be found on the top 118th floor. The building also contains an observation deck on the 100th floor called Sky100 which opened to the public in April 2011. The 101st floor is leased to a number of five-star restaurants.

The Busan Lotte World Tower is a 110-floor, 510.1 m (1,674 ft) supertall skyscraper project in Busan, South Korea. When build it will become the fifth tallest building in the world.

When completed, the residential tower will be 516 m (1,693 ft) tall, with 122 floors above ground. It was designed by architects Aedas and funded by Trident International Holdings. The AED 1.46 billion (US$400 million) construction contract was awarded to Arabian Construction Company. The Pentominium has one of the deepest excavations done in the world.

5. One World Trade Center

The Pingan International Finance Center is a 115-storey supertall skyscraper that is under construction in Shenzhen, China. The Finance Center complex will also include a 307-m (1,007-ft), 66-story hotel building.

Burj Khalifa is the tallest manmade structure in the world, at 829.84 m (2,723 ft). The Arrinerar will ride on a tubular steel chassis and will come with a carbon Kevlar body with plenty of carbon fiber and aluminum accents. It will glide along the streets with large diameter light alloy wheels wrapped around ultra low profile tires, 255/30 R19 at the front and 335/30 R20 at the rear. Stopping power will come from Ceramic brake discs.

Design    

The car body styling is characterized by sharp and dynamic lines, which clearly indicate the massive potential of the supercar. The front of the car is close to the ground which vastly improves its aerodynamic properties. Two air intakes allow cooling air to be directed onto the hot brakes. When looking at the car from the side, one cannot help the impression that the car is surprisingly asymmetrical: the passenger cabin is moved forwards and the door line rises distinctively – these features are something that we do not see very often in everyday traffic. At the back of the car, unique muffler housings with diffusers resemble the exhaust nozzles of a jet airplane. The Arrinera supercar will be equipped with a 650HP engine. The car body will be unique and its aerodynamics and lightweight construction will make it possible to maximize the output of the engine. The stylist responsible for Arrinera’s lines is Pavlo Burkatskyy.

Chassis and body

The chassis designed by Lee Noble will be made from high-strength steel of variable section and considerable torsional strength. It will be extraordinarily light and characterized by high deformation resistance. The expertise of the British designer (over 30 years in the industry) ensures suitable protection for the cars in this category. Optionally, the body, interior and floor can be made of Carbon/Kevlar fiber composite materials.

Interior

Individual elements will be made of high quality leather and composite materials. The car is equipped with an audio system, power windows and mirrors as well as air conditioning. For safety reasons – in case of a rollover – reinforced roll bars have been positioned behind the seats and both seats are equipped with inertia reel seat belts.

Engine

An 8-cylinder 6.2-litre engine with a maximum power of 650HP and 820 Nm torque.

Wheels

19-inch wheels create additional space for an expanded braking system. Light-alloy wheels with 255/35 R19 tyres (front) and 335/30 R19 (rear).

Brakes

Front wheels are equipped with 6-piston callipers and 380 mm brake discs. Rear wheels with 4-piston callipers and 350 mm brake discs.

Suspension

Independent, multi-link, designed and optimised by Lee Noble.

Thermal vision camera

The car can be fitted with a thermal vision camera option, which monitors the area in front of the car at the distance of a few hundred metres. If the camera detects an object with a temperature exceeding the ambient temperature (presumably an animal or a human), the driver can see a bright and clear image of this object on a display located in the central console within normal sight line. This may significantly improve the safety level at night and when driving in fog as compared to xenon headlights.
