There are some incredible planets outside our solar systems which have been discovered recently by

our astronomers. They have some strange and bizarre characteristics which are hard to imagine for humans who live on this Planet Earth. There are also other strange things in space like 10 Items That Are Still Floating Out There but for now, we’ll focus on the planets.

Dr. Alexander Wolszczan, a radio astronomer was the first one to come out with the discovery of exoplanets in 1994. After this great discovery, nearly 1,888 exoplanets were discovered which in turn led to a revolution in the way scientists study and understand the complex nature of planetary formation. This has further provided an insight to them about the universe. The future space missions will also provide more evidence about other planets around the universe.

There is yet another strange but fascinating fact about this planet that it glows in dark red color which resembles like a hot coal of fire. This is mainly because the surface temperature on this planet is 1100 degree Celsius. On the other hand, Venus which is the hottest planet in our Solar system has a surface temperature of around 450 degrees Celsius.

Osiris was the first exoplanet which was discovered during its transit of the orbiting star and is located 150 light years away in the Pegasus constellation. Osiris also known by the name HD 209458b is about 30% bigger than Jupiter and has an orbit which is 1/8 the distance of Mercury from the Sun. The temperature on this planet is 1,832 degrees Fahrenheit.

The heat and pressure exerted on this planet has given rise to the evaporation of different kinds of atmospheric gases.

CoRoT-7b was one of the first rocky planets which was discovered in the orbit of some other star. According to the astronomers, this planet used to be a giant planet similar to Neptune or Saturn, before its layers of gas and atmosphere were taken away due to its proximity to the star.

The most fascinating thing about this planet is that the part of it that faces the star is almost 4,000 degrees Fahrenheit, whereas the dark side of the CoRoT-7b appears frozen at 350f. As a result, there are rock rains observed on this planet where vaporized rock comes on the planet’s surface in the form of liquid rock rain that hardens into solid stone. 

4. HAT-P-1

As per some of the recent studies in astrophysics, it has been found that HAT-P-1 is actually a gas giant which is half the size of Jupiter and has a weight similar to that of a cork ball. It has been classified as the “Hot Jupiter” which is said to be 25% larger than the estimated model size. And when we say hot we don’t mean like the hottest places on earth but actually really hot, over 1000 degree Fahrenheit making it one of the most amazing planets.

There is a deep mystery surrounding this issue as the astronomers are unable to find out the cause behind the swelling of the planet more than the actual norm.

This is one of the most dazzling planets and it sparkles and shines as it’s made up of diamonds that look absolutely fantastic. It is about 2 times the size of the earth and located at 40 light years away from this solar system. Almost 1.3rd of it comprises of diamond and it’s full of carbon which creates an extreme pressure to form diamonds which makes it one of the most amazing planets.

This planet was discovered in 2012 and is located 400 light years away from the Earth and has planetary rings 200 times bigger than those orbiting around the Saturn. This is so large that if Saturn had a similar ring system that it would cover the entire sky on the earth and appear to be larger than the moon.

One of the most fascinating thing about this planet is that it is the size of Neptune but still 13 times closer to the parent star as compared to distance between Neptune and the Sun. Its star is a red dwarf and not that big in size but it makes a one complete revolution in about 2 days and 15 hours.

Due to the high gravitational force, this planet takes away the water on the surface and stays in the form of ice amidst an extremely high surface temperature of 439 degree Celsius.
